Stephe was born into the musical “Wilson” family September 20, 1957. Thanks in no small part to his drummer Grandpa, George Hawthorn, he began playing drums in 1964.

In the summer of 1971 he was given an electric guitar by twin brothers Dale and Gale Bass and “Lemon Pipers” guitar player Gary Guthrie.

1975 found Stephe in the house band at Ruthie’s Pit Stop Bar. He also graduated from Franklin Heights High School and turned 18, all in that order. The 18th birthday party at the bar was something to remember.

The next year, 1976, Stephe met Jim McFee and Heavy Campbell. He auditioned to replace guitarist TJ Evans in the band “Menagerie”. They hired him on the spot. TJ would return later and the four of them worked together for a time.

In 1989 he married Yvonda Petro, the love of his life, and Stephe concentrated on his guitar, vocal and keyboard skills. This led to a 1991 meeting with, bass player, Tom Heffner and a 13 year stint in the Dayton band “Rewind”.

In addition to his band activities Stephe has electronically scored 2 films.

He also served as producer for the Outland Records band, “Smakkedab”, and Arel Records artist, “David Meese”.

Today, Stephe continues to work on his own recordings of instrumental jazz and vocal pop / rock songs.
